Gerardo was born on October 13, 1947. Raised with a deep appreciation for hard work and the land, he developed a lifelong passion for agriculture. After completing a bachelor’s degree from Monterrey Tech, he continued his studies at STC, completing certification in Small Engine Repair. He believed in education and imparted his knowledge freely with others. For more than 50 years, Gerardo devoted himself to ranch life. He loved working the soil and took great pride in sowing sorghum and beans. His affection for animals was equally strong; cows, horses, goats, rabbits, and pigs were always a part of his ranching life. Working with his hands brought him joy, and he became known for teaching ranchers, neighbors, and friends his many tips, tricks, and practical wisdom. Gerardo married the love of his life, Maria, and together they built a beautiful marriage that spanned 49 years. Side by side, they raised three children, to whom he passed on his core values: strength, kindness, generosity, and an unshakable work ethic. He often reminded his children of his guiding philosophy: “En esta vida hay que ser buenos, más buenos, y después súper buenos.” Gerardo treasured his family above all else, and nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren—whom he loved to spoil, especially with a little extra money in their hands and smiles on their faces. Gerardo leaves behind a legacy of love, humility, and hard work. His presence will be deeply missed, but his lessons, kindness, strength, and his spirit will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know him.
