Our mom was an amazing wife. Throughout our dad's life, she loved him and cared for him so much.
When he became ill and needed 24 hour care, even though she wasn't able to care for him herself, she was still 100% involved. His loss 2 years ago left a huge hole in her heart. She made sure that we took her to his gravesite weekly. She kept his memorial card near her always. She had chosen Psalm 23 for the backside of the card and this became her favorite scripture. She would have us read it every time before we left his gravesite.
She loved us, her daughters well, and lived a godly example of what both a wife and mother should be like. She was a wife that loved, honored and forgave her husband. She was a mom that loved, cared, and nurtured her children. She also showed us how to be strong and courageous women, and to trust God.
She will forever live in our hearts.
She was also an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as "Mema". She adored her grand children and great- grand children. They loved going to Mema's house. She leaves them with so many fond memories with their Mema.
She was a wonderful example of a Christian woman to all her family and demonstrated what love and selflessness looks like. She entertained and served her family and so many friends and even strangers in her home, making sure that when they left, they had been well fed. She opened her home and cared for many of her family members when they were ill and needed someone who could nurse them back to health.
She will be missed so much by all her family, especially by us, her five daughters. We find comfort and peace in knowing that our mom is no longer in pain and suffering because she is now in heaven because she belonged to Jesus. There is no doubt in our hearts that she heard the Lord say to her, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
