With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Hector Antonio Herrera, a devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend. Born on February 13, 1973, to Antonio C. Herrera and Maria Dolores Guzman, Hector lived a life filled with creativity, generosity, and a genuine joy for the people around him.
Hector is survived by his wife of 18 years, Ana Laura Herrera, whose partnership with him was full of love, laughter, and shared dreams. He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Gabrielle “Gigi” Grace Herrera, his greatest pride and his favorite teammate in countless projects, crafts, and imaginative adventures. He is also survived by his siblings, Melissa Herrera and Adan Herrera, and his two cats, Chip and Lucky, who never left his side.
He is preceded in death by his father, his beloved dogs Smokey and Bandit, and his fish Fredd.
Hector had many passions: gaming, BBQing, and visiting Las Vegas, where he enjoyed the energy, the lights, and the thrill of a good poker game. A dedicated Chevy fan—not Ford, don’t get it twisted, and a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan.
Above all, he adored spending time with family and friends. He loved doing projects with Gigi, blasting Metallica, and sharing the kind of dad jokes that made you groan and laugh at the same time. He had a big imagination, a big heart, and an even bigger commitment to helping others. If something needed building, cooking, repairing, or simply making better, Hector was already halfway done before anyone knew he’d started.
He was the person who showed up, helped without hesitation, fixed what was broken, and went above and beyond for anyone who needed him. His kindness was steady, his presence grounding, and his love for his family constant and unwavering.
Hector leaves behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and quiet strength. Though his time here feels far too short, the memories he created will continue to guide, comfort, and inspire those who loved him. His spirit will live on in every shared story, every project completed in his honor, and every moment of laughter he once sparked.
We will miss him dearly. #13
