Our father, José Guadalupe Ramírez López, rests in the Lord, until the glorious return of his Saviour- Jesus Christ, when Dad will be resurrected, and his broken body will be raised in glory and strength. He went to rest, peacefully, at his home- as he’d requested.
Don Lupe/Lupito was born on September 16, 1942 in Chamacuaro, Guanajuato, México to Vicente Ramírez and Carmen López-Jacobo. He moved to Reynosa, Tamaulipas, where he eventually met and married Elvia. Together, they had and raised a family of seven children. Throughout his life, he held various jobs- including store owner and construction painter. He took great pride in his work in all his jobs. Although a man with no more than a few months of formal education, he became an avid and fluent reader. He liked to read old world history, Bible prophecy, and poetry. He was quite the storyteller, too; and often asked almost everyone if they were going or had gone to Chamacuaro. While working in Chicago alongside Greek coworkers, he learned their language, and was willing to teach it to all who’d lend an ear. He was an enthusiast of a game of billiard pool and dominoes. His favorite restaurant was El Rex, where he always ordered “el especial”.
He is survived by his sons: Juan G. Ramírez, José G. Ramírez, Vicente Ramírez, and Josué Ramírez; daughters: Susie Escobedo, Zulema Palma, and Mari Cardona; 18 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren; sister- Elisa Gómez, and 2 brothers: Ruben García and Rosario Madrigal. His parents; wife; granddaughters, Robyn and Analisa Escobedo; sister, Maria de Jesus Olivo; and brother Eliseo Ramirez precede him in peaceful rest until that day when “the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.”
