He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Dora "Tiny" Jean Mettlach; his parents, Leonard Joseph Mettlach Sr. and Margaret Bindel Mettlach; siblings, Clarence "Buddy" William Mettlach Sr., Martha Roseland, Loretta Roethemeyer and Virginia "Jenny" Oxford.
Leonard is survived by his children, Leonard Joseph (Pam) Mettlach III, Michael Ray Mettlach, Carol Jean (Bubba) Smith, Terry Wayne Mettlach; brother, Johnny Mettlach; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Leonard was a proud Army Veteran who was stationed in Germany shortly after World War II. He was a devout Catholic throughout his life. Leonard will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will take place Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10am - 12pm with the funeral service to follow at 12pm at Funeraria Del Angel, 3611 N Taylor Rd Mission, TX 78573.
The graveside service will take place Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 1:00pm at Valley Memorial Gardens, 3605 North Taylor Road, Mission, Texas 78572.
