Manuel Serrano, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on February 18, 1933, to José Luz Serrano and San Juanita Sanchez, Manuel lived a long, humble life defined by hard work, generosity, and deep love for his family.
He was married to the love of his life, Amelia Serrano, for 72 wonderful years until her passing. Their bond was one of enduring commitment and shared dreams, and together they raised a beautiful and loving family.
Manuel was the proud father of 11 children: Maria Laura Salinas (Rodolfo, †), Baby Jose Manuel (†), Irma Esparza † (Jesus), Yolanda Marquez (Juan), Manuel Serrano Jr. (Alicia), Ricardo Serrano (Sylvia), Elvira Pulido (Mingo), Raquel Serrano (Lupe, son Matthew Brandon Flores), Hector Serrano (Blanca), Elia Serrano (Jaime), and Enrique Serrano (Ruthie †).
He was a cherished grandfather to Celina, Clarissa, Yvette, Yvonne, Jessica, Juan Jorge Jr., Maria Isabel, Janet, Melissa, Monica, Ricky, Erika, Alejandro, Anna, Matthew, Eric, Emerald, Emily, James, Joseph, Philip, Ozzie and Mark; and a beloved great-grandfather to Oliver, Michael, Riker, Luis Jr., Olivia, Summer, Christie, Liliana, Zoey, Spencer, Jordan, Andrew, and Alisia.
Manuel was the founder and owner of M. Serrano Construction LLC, which he led for over 40 years. His dedication to his work was matched only by his dedication to his family. Any profits he earned, he gave to help better the lives of his children. A humble man, he sought no riches or recognition—only the joy of giving and seeing his family thrive.
He was a man of the earth who found joy in gardening, fishing, barbecuing, and cooking. His home was never without a warm meal, and his door was always open. He cherished his mango tree, citrus trees, and pecan trees, sending boxes of home-grown nuts to family far and wide. Grapes, tomatoes, zucchini—whatever he could grow, he nurtured with love and care.
Manuel was a man who made friends easily and left a lasting impact on everyone he met. His legacy of love, humility, and generosity will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Had many friends that he kept in touch with and were very special to him, The Miller Family from Lebanon, Indiana and De Anda Family from Indio, California.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
