She was born in McAllen TX on July 17,1943 to parents Gonzalo Salazar and Angelita Zepeda.
Mary is survived by her spouse of 60 years; Reynaldo Contreras; children, Michelle Ann Contreras and Michael Ray Contreras; grandchildren, Hilton Rey Burleson and Andres Zuniga III.
Mary was in education for 55 years. She received her bachelors of science from Pan American University. Received her Masters in Psychology and Counseling from Texas A&I Kingsville. Masters in Mid Management from Sul Ross State University.
Graduated High School from McHigh. Was the first Hispanic female drum Major.
Mary was athletic and enjoyed various outdoor activities such as, running, walking, swimming, and going to the beach. Most of all, she loved spending time with her husband, kids, and grandchildren.
Mary will be dearly missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00PM Friday, November 15, 2024 at Funeraria Del Angel 3611 N Taylor Rd, Mission, TX 78573.
