

Oscar Ramirez Jr., 65, of Elgin, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. Born on April 20, 1960, to Oscar Ramirez Sr. and Juliana Chavez Flores, Oscar lived a life defined by love, leadership, and generosity of spirit. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother.
Oscar shared 44 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Mary Jane Ramirez. Together they built a home filled with laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion. He was a proud and loving father to Mario Ramirez, Emilio Ramirez, and April Ramirez, and a deeply cherished grandfather to Christina, Makayla, Maddox, Hazel, John, Minerva, and Luciano Lorenzo. His family was his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.
A natural leader and respected professional, Oscar served as a General Manager in the import and export business, where his integrity, wisdom, and work ethic earned him admiration from colleagues and friends alike. He believed in mentoring others and generously shared his knowledge with young students at South Texas College, encouraging them in their pursuit of business studies and personal growth. He took great pride in helping others succeed.
Oscar loved the simple pleasures of life, especially freshwater fishing. Whether casting a line at sunrise or sharing stories by the water, those moments brought him peace and happiness. More than anything, he was a father figure to all who knew him—offering guidance, strength, and unconditional support. His door was always open, his advice steady, and his heart big enough for everyone.
Oscar’s legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the lives he shaped, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always honored by those blessed to know him.
