He is survived by his wife Rosa Maria Melendez; his children Roberto(Rosalinda) Xavier Melendez, Sonia(Mukendi) Hayde Melendez Kongolo and Roberto Carlos Melendez; and by his grandchildren Sara E. Melendez, Sofia I. Melendez, Christian Roberto Kongolo, Justin John Kongolo and Maggie Kayiba Kongolo.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission.
