

Veronica “Betty” Caraveo (age 77) entered eternal rest on December 20, 2025, lovingly called home by the Lord. Born on July 20, 1948, Betty was a lifelong resident of McAllen, Texas, where she built deep roots and lasting friendships.
She graduated from McAllen High School in 1968 and went on to attend Pan American University, where she pursued a major in Special Education. In 1969, Betty selflessly set aside her studies to help run the family business and support her mother and siblings—a reflection of her deep sense of responsibility and love for her family.
A respected local businesswoman, Betty was the owner of Caraveo’s Upholstery, where her strong work ethic, integrity, and kindness were well known. She gave not only her time and talents to her work, but also her heart to her community.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her quiet strength, and her lifelong commitment to serving others. Her compassion, humility, and love leave a lasting legacy in the lives she touched. She lived a life marked by kindness, sacrifice, and compassion, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel R. Caraveo, Sr. and Felicitas M. Caraveo, and by her siblings Manuel Caraveo, Jr., Robert Caraveo, and Ruben Caraveo.
Veronica is survived by her loving wife, Irma Acosta; her siblings Romeo Rodolfo “Rudy” Caraveo (Hortencia), Gloria C. Zemlicka, Lucia M. C. Luken, and Roy Caraveo (Gracie); as well as 16 nieces and nephews and 31 great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will forever cherish her memory.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love and selflessness will never be forgotten.
