Carol Lee Walsh (née Walther), 83, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on May 16, 2026. She was born on November 16, 1942, in Sacramento and grew up in Riverside, where she attended school and began building the foundation of her life defined by faith, devotion, and love for the family she cherished so deeply.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Tom Walsh; her daughter, Jennifer Masters; and her stepdaughters, Gretchen Sheckler and Rhonda Lerum. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Madeline Masters, Jillian Masters, Matthew Masters, Ryan Sheckler, Shane Sheckler, Kane Sheckler, Riley McDonald, Reid Lundeen, Reagan Lundeen, and Kassidy Lerum; as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Noah Sheckler, Olive Sheckler, Lilah Sheckler, and Raine McDonald. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Austin. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty, and her brother, Chris.
It was in Riverside that Carol’s story with Tom began. Though they lived only one street apart growing up, they did not meet until later in life, when God’s timing brought them together. Their marriage became a beautiful partnership marked by love, faith, adventure, and unwavering devotion to family.
Carol dedicated many years to her career with the Riverside County Courthouse before later moving to San Clemente, where she worked in the accounting department for the Moulton Niguel Water District. She was respected for her strong work ethic, kindness, and steady presence.
Above all else, Carol was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love for her family was evident in everything she did. She was always ready to listen, always welcomed you with open arms, and loved with her whole heart and full attention. She found joy in gardening, working in her yard, shopping adventures, lunch and coffee dates, tea parties, and creating a warm and welcoming home. Carol and Tom shared a love for camping and travel, often spending time on the road together exploring the beauty of the United States and making treasured memories along the way. She also had a tender heart for all creatures, especially her fur babies Ava and Lila, loving them with the same warmth she gave to people.
Carol’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She carried herself with grace, compassion, and quiet strength, always placing her trust in the Lord and demonstrating Christ’s love through her care for others. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Fairhaven Memorial Services on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with a reception immediately following at the same location.
Carol will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew her - remembered for her loving heart, steadfast faith, and the lasting legacy of love she leaves behind in every life she touched.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”
John 3:16-17
