I remember you in SOCSA very well, and you were all a delight to watch in the many theatre performances. I took many photos of you and your posse of friends during those years for the Instagram. 

Just over a year has gone by since you left us, and the memory of you is always there.  So many of our best memories have you in them.  I hope you have found peace Dominic.   Just know that you were truly loved.

Dominic radiated a light that lifted me up several times. I remember hearing his laughter throughout the halls of Niguel and Dana. It was contagious. His positive energy, passion, and friendliness refreshed me any time I spoke with him. He was goofy and silly, but he owned it. I looked up to that. I miss him.

One of my favorite memories of Dom was during the night of our senior Disneyland trip. Everyone was on the bus waiting to be taken back home and I had the pleasure to sit with Dominic on the way home. The entire time we were on the bus he spoke in a Wakandan accent and told me I must refer to him as "T'Challa" and speak in a wakandan accent as well. We had a super fun time yelling to everyone on the bus that he was the new Black Panther and how we would all become the Dora Milaj. We continued this until I hugged him goodbye and went home. 

That same night, Dylan was sitting in front of us and had fallen asleep with his head leaning on the window and his mouth wide open. Dom (or should I say T'Challa) looked at Dylan's wide open mouth, looked at the bag of chips he had in his backpack, then looked at me and gave me such a devious little smile. He then ever so carefully and quietly opened the bag of chips and started to place them into Dylan's mouth one by one. He wanted to see how many chips he could fit into his mouth without him waking up. He got to 5 chips and then Dylan twitched and they fell out. One chip had managed to stay in and Dylan started to chew it and then went back to sleep. We were holding back so much laughter I thought I was going to explode. It was an hilarious moment that I will cherish in my memories. 

I miss you so much my friend. Rest in peace.

In the many years Dom and I were friends, we found long walks to Salt Creek to be our favorite activity. We’d talk for hours on end, until the sun went down, and for many hours after.

Through many years of hours-long conversations I learned that, although dynamic and thoughtful and inquisitive and gregarious and loving, Dom was, above all, enigmatic. His presence evades description. He is defined by many of us in name alone. 

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more loving soul than Dom. All strangers were friends he had not yet met and every challenge was a new adventure.

His memory will live on, with an unforgettable vibrance, so long as eyes can see and ears can hear. I’m eternally grateful for the time we spent together. He is forever a brother to me. I love him dearly.

My son Jacob and Dom were good friends.  The first time my husband and I saw Dom was in the SOCSA production of “Little Shop of Horrors”.  Dom played a role with very few lines (he was sweeping the flower shop in the show), and my husband and I were crying with laughter at how this SHOWMAN owned the stage and made that small role so impactful.
This photo was from the prom in 2017.  Jake was a senior and Dom a sophomore.  We were there to meet their dates and take photos and their dates were over an hour late.  I’m a boy mom, and I was seriously irritated that the girls were so late-it was SUPER windy and we waited forever.  Dom, however, provided the equivalent humor of a night at the improv, cracked us all up for the duration, and made what could’ve been a miserable afternoon of waiting into a raucous good time.
I was always happy Jacob had Dom as a close friend.  We adored his sweet and funny soul.  We are just heartbroken at his loss.  Sending so much love from the Harkey family

Words seem useless beasts in the bleak landscape of loss. This wonderful tribute to Dom's life was a beautiful sunrise of warmth, laughter and love. It was a reminder of the many, many lives touched and inspired, now and forever, by Dom's fearless creativity and boundless talent. As one classmate put it, "Dom served as a constant reminder to always be passionate. Dom was everyone's biggest fan. And that made you his biggest fan." Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting us all share in Dom's remarkable life. It was a great privilege to be here today, albeit remotely. Dom was such a bright light. He made me laugh every night during Guys and Dolls. His comedic timing was amazing♥️

Dom was such a light to this world. For the short time I had at DHHS- he lit up the theatre program and always inspired me to perform. Frequently stealing the show with his perfect comedic ability, he drew audiences wherever he went. At one of the drama trips, him and Dylan drew a crowd of cheering students with an amazing lightsaber battle- I recently found one of the photos and it made me smile. It was the highlight of the whole trip for so many of us. 
His reach to inspire extended to those far out of his circle, too. My little brother frequently attributes his inspiration for comedic acting after seeing the DHHS Macbeth play, where Dom stole the show with his hilarious monologue, and after seeing his Monty Python skit in one of the shows. 
Thank you for inspiring so many of us and bringing so much joy into this world with your unique personality and contagious laughter.

Dom is irreplaceable. He is one of the most kind, talented, hilarious, and intuitive people I’ve ever met, and I felt lucky to be his friend. I’ll treasure our time laughing together always ❤️

Dom was an absolutely amazingly talented person and artist. It’s cliche, but he would genuinely  make everyone’s day the very moment he would walk into the room. I’m so grateful to have gotten to see his creative process, to have recorded memories with him, and to have gotten to create genuine ART with him. And of course, I’m mostly grateful to just have gotten to know him and to have been his friend. This picture goes back to when we were working on his album, and he wanted to look like he could play all the instruments I had in my room. He really was the funniest dude I’ve ever and will ever know— the hungriest too. He literally ate an entire deli meat ham package once at 4 in the afternoon. The man sure loved Stacy’s Pita chips too. Wild appetite. Truly Dom, thank you so much for the memories and friendship, good buddy.

I never really had the opportunity to be a closer friend of dom’s although even our short encounters made a substantial impact on my life.  He made me laugh so hard, but more importantly he constantly inspired me. His unwavering commitment to a bit made me consider trying that unwavering commitment on myself.  I wish so badly I had a photo of him in his grandpa glasses to attach to this post, one of my fondest memories is under the bridge at Salt Creek, singing with Will, Dom with those glasses on, yelling at me with an old chicago accent <3 

So many fun memories with sweet Dom. Never a dull moment. 

Dominic was always a dear friend to me. Ever since middle school theatre, I knew that Dominic would make an impact on this world. His laugh was infectious and he was always (and I mean always) up to no good. His passion for all that he did was inspiring, and I couldn't imagine my high school experience without him. My most favorite memory would have to be when he was my secret santa freshman year. I was so surprised that I received everything I had asked for, (even some really girly requests) and when it was revealed to me that Dom was my secret santa, he told me that his mom, Gina had done everything. Dom never ceased to make me smile, and I will never forget him. I am still processing this horrible loss not only for his family but for the entire SOCSA and Dana Hills community. 



I think at this point Dom had dared me to drink a shot of ranch and Lauren was pouring it for me

We love you to the moon and back!  Thanks for all the joy and laughter.

Dom always poured so much creativity into everything he did. In 2016, he recreated many iconic movie posters for his Snapchat streaks—here are some of my favorites that I have saved. I had the honor of being featured in his recreation of the poster for The Shining.

I was talking to Dominic about the pandemic and he asked me if I started any new hobbies and I said honestly, I’ve just been drinking a lot more. With a straight face and complete sincerity he said hey, that’s still something. I laughed. I asked him the same thing and he said he was working on some lines for a movie he was making…. Needless to say I felt like I needed to do something more productive during quarantine lol. Dominic was very talented and inspiring
