Born in Connecticut to Edward and Ann Patrick, James was raised in a devoted Catholic home alongside his sister, Gail. As a young boy, he served as an altar server and carried the values of honesty, compassion, and responsibility throughout his life.

At nineteen, James joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in Turkey, an experience that sparked his lifelong love of travel and exploration. After his service, he moved to California, earned his doctorate in law, and built a respected career as an attorney known for fairness, sharp intellect, and unwavering integrity.

James married Janeth and embraced not only her but her large, lively family with grace and humor. Together they raised two sons, James Edward and Sean Paul, who were the pride and joy of his life.

He will be remembered for his big laugh, his long stories, his love of cooking, and his passion for learning and exploring the world. James lived life on his own terms — with honesty, independence, and a generous spirit.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and authenticity. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will continue in the hearts of all who knew him, especially his sons.
