Rachael Lyne Farrokh-Edmondson, 47, was born on October 25, 1977 and peacefully left this earth to be with Jesus, on the morning of July 19, 2025, after a two decade battle with anorexia nervosa and complications that developed as a result. Rachael never lost hope that she would beat the disease, and when she passed quietly in her sleep, the smile on her face let us know that she finally did. She was greeted by her Lord and Savior, and He took all her pain away. Rachael is now catching up with her grandparents, 3 siblings who died before birth and friends that passed before her. In her free time, she is riding a unicorn on streets of gold with her departed pets running alongside her.
Rachael was born in Anaheim, California and lived in Orange County her whole life. She went to a small Christian school from preschool through high school graduation. She got her AA from Santa Ana College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BCom from Cal State Fullerton. She spent many years in sales, did some acting but seemed to find her true calling was helping others.
For 10 years, Rachael publicly shared her struggles with the world to help people understand and navigate this often misunderstood disease. She loved helping and advocating for those who couldn’t do so for themselves. To that end, she even went back to school online with Saddleback College during Covid and again graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2024 with 2 Associate of Science degrees, one in Alcohol and Drug Studies and the other in Human Services Generalist.
She is survived by her devoted, loving husband, Rod, who long before they married on
December 31, 2013, embraced the vows of caring for her in sickness and health and he will carry her legacy on in her memory. A fur baby, Toby, a fur nephew Widget and a fur sister, Roxy, who was Rachael’s spirit animal. Rachael loved comedy clubs and had a great sense of humor, so this is for her…she left behind a sister, Ranna, who adored her, even in Rachael’s “annoying little sister” phase which was longer than you’d think (I love you, my sistah) and parents that only agreed on one thing, their love for their daughter.
She loved Rod, animals, orange (the color not the fruit, not that she didn’t like the fruit but I digress), quoting Steel Magnolias with her sister, Spiderman, rap music, her family and all of you. The order, probably depended on the day.
We will love and miss her until we join her in heaven and on a personal note, Rachael, you know I love you more than my luggage. IYKYK
She will be buried in a private service, on August 8, 2025. There will be a separate service, Remembering Rachael, for all who loved her, which will take place on the afternoon of August 23, 2025. Details to follow.
