Rainer Metz

Rainer is survived by his wife Donna, sons, Tyler and his wife Nazanin, and Karl and his wife Adrienne and their two children Isaac and Vivian Metz. He is preceded in death by his parents Werner and Irmgard Metz of Vista, California.

Rainer was born on July 28, 1950 in Leer, Germany. He graduated from Cal Poly in 1973 with a bachelor of science in Biology and Soil Science. He married Donna in 1975 whom he met at Cal Poly. After moving to Orange County, he began working in the nursery business and in 1979 branched out on his own to start DM Color Express. Rainer was known for his generous, loyal spirit, dry wit and true grit. He was beloved by his family, friends and employees.

A Memorial service will be held this Saturday, June 17, 2017 at St. Andrew’s By-The-Sea in San Clemente, California, commencing at 10am. A Reception will follow. The Reverend Steve Petty will officiate the ceremony and all are welcome to attend and celebrate Rainer's life.
