

A lover of music, Robert played the clarinet starting with his junior high school band and continuing into high school. He became the band’s drum major in his senior year. In later years he took vocal lessons and put on a lovely solo performance for friends while serenading his wife on stage.
Robert earned his bachelor's degree at the University of California, Irvine, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He continued his education at the University of California Berkeley School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree and was admitted to Order of the Coif.
Professionally, he clerked for United States Court of Appeals judge James R. Browning. Thereafter he joined the Los Angeles office of Sidley & Austin as an associate attorney, and progressed to a partnership. He specialized in handling civil appeals.
Robert was devoted to his wife, Quinnie whom he married in 2012. An animal lover, he enjoyed the companionship of his black labrador retriever, Max, for 11 years.
Robert had a brilliant mind and a quick, dry wit. He was thoughtful and kind. He was a great listener with wonderful insights. His advice was invaluable.
Robert loved to swim. He loved all Star Trek movies and TV series, his favorite TV show is Colombo. He enjoyed free form painting as well.
Robert is survived by his wife Quinnie Holland, mother (Maureen Arrigo) father (Terry Holland) aunt (Zera Lowe) and half-sisters (Rachel and Rebecca Holland).
