Sheila Forrest Fox was born on July 27, 1944 in New York during WWII while her father was serving overseas in the Pacific Amphitheater. She grew up in City Island, NY with her two younger brothers, Douglas and Brian Forrest.
Sheila and her brother Douglas performed on the Art Linkletter show in the 1950’s, singing and dancing to the delight of many! When she was 14 years old, her family moved to San Diego where she graduated from Point Loma High School and shortly thereafter became a cheerleader for the Chargers.
When she was 18 years old, Sheila moved back to New York and lived on E. 56th street where she worked as a runway model. Between modeling gigs, she had a ventriloquist act, "Danny O'Day and his dog Arfel." She also worked briefly as a flight attendant for TWA.
On July 5, 1968, Sheila met her husband of nearly 50 years, George Fox (August 3, 1932-July 25, 2018), on Nantucket Island at a bar, the Rope Walk, and they were married 4 months later. They moved to Connecticut and had two children, Chris and Suzy Fox.
She held a weekly radio program on Astrology in Old Saybrook, CT. In 1979, Sheila and her family moved to Southern California, eventually settling in Irvine where received her Series 22 license and worked as a commodity broker for 5 years. She then received her Series 7 license and worked as a stock broker for the remainder of her career.
She loved bodysurfing, sailing, dancing, swimming, fashion, her numerous dogs, and laughing. She was a life-long Christian, an intellectual, a feminist, and obsessed with poetry. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchild, Nicholas Forrest Fox. Sheila joined her husband George, her parents, and many others she loved in heaven on July 1, 2024. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
