Daniel was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on May 29, 1946. He graduated from West Scranton High School where he was voted most popular in his graduating class. He later married his wife of 59 years, Marybeth Cawley, who he met at Lake Winola in Wyoming County, PA. They moved to New Jersey where Daniel held down two jobs while simultaneously attending night school in pursuit of his associates degree. Daniel enjoyed a lifelong career in Sales with Nabisco winning many awards and accolades. Daniel and Marybeth went on to have three daughters and purchased a home in Hopatcong, NJ where they raised their family until Daniel’s retirement after which they purchased their dream home in Missouri City, TX.
Daniel was a true presence with the loudest laugh in the room. Always up for a gathering and living life to the fullest he got into all sorts of shenanigans filled with pranks, music, hours of laughter and tall tales to last a lifetime.
Daniel enjoyed travel, gardening, yard work, DIY home projects, Sunday drives, watching a Yankees Baseball or Giants Football game, bird watching and fixing cars. He had a passion for 1950-1960’s genre of music, classic western and crime shows on TV. Daniel found joy in visits and holidays spent with family, friends, his daughters and grandchildren but he could not have done life or his journey without his wife at his side.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Marybeth Cawley; his daughters Kelly Bandstra, Mauri Cawley and husband Timothy Zgleszewski, and Christine Pepe; grandchildren, Jordyn Cawley, Julia Pepe, Emily Graham and husband Ethan, Nicolas Pepe, Molly Pepe, Olivia Bandstra, Finean Zgleszewski and Oliver Zgleszewski.
