Even though it’s been two months this is still so hard for me. Some days are harder than others. I miss you so much. It pains me knowing I will never get to see you again. I’m so happy that we always took lots of pictures and videos even though sometimes you didn’t want to lol. I still have so many things I want to say to you. I’m thankful that we shared so many special memories together. I love you so much Tristan.

I still see you everyday.

My heart tries to grasp you, but realizes that it’s reaching for empty space you left behind.
Having hope every second that when I glance at my phone there will be a call from you. Even just a text.
From having conversations with you everyday, to now talking to you with no response. I’m searching for signs.
I look for you in everything now. 
Struggling to get a sign out of every single experience that’s happened to me since you left.
I’m starting to realize that I’m not getting the direct signs I’d been hoping for.
You are everywhere now. Carried by everyone who loved you, and everyone you loved. You are part of the Earth, and most of all, you are with God.
It eases me trusting and knowing you are closer to me than ever before.
Sitting quietly, listening to me for hours when I rambled about my day.
To no longer being able to see your face, pains my heart.
I thank you for always seeing the best in me, and I thank you even more for the time we spent together.  
I miss coming to your house and patiently waiting for you to get back from your shift at chick fil a, dressed in your bright red collared tucked in shirt. Ranting all about how your coworkers pissed you off during your whole shift.
I miss playing 2K with you, dropping 30 points per game, only for you to tell me in the end that you weren’t even trying- just to make me feel bad.
If I stood up here and I listed everything I miss about you I’d be talking up here for hours. So I’m not going to do that. But there is one thing that I do miss the most.
I miss your smile. The way I couldn’t tell if your eyes were shut or not. Your smile was so contagious, and It got me every time. All 32 of your naturally perfect straight teeth, grinning from ear to ear everytime you laughed.
And now, 
My favorite part about you, I can no longer see 
Yes, this is true physically

But In my mind Tristan, I still see you everyday.

Tristan,  it's so hard sitting here writing this right now. You were just with us celebrating Shanoi and now I'm sitting here writing this in remembrance of you. It's still so unbelievably. Just 3 months apart, neither time nor distance affected your connection. We loved watching "the cousins cousin-ing". You brought even more light and levity to our times together especially in what was your final week with us. Thank you so much, Tristan. Knowing you're with the ancestors watching over us brings some solace. The hurt is deep. The love is forever. Sleep well my beautiful nephew 🥲🙏🏾❤.

Darling Tristan, a ray of sunshine. I remember the first day I met you, you were around 3 years old, full of energy, constantly dancing, big smiles and bigger hugs. You have always shown strength, courage, compassion and love. You will  be deeply missed superstar but never forgotten, you have left so many amazing memories with those that were blessed to know you, a true kind soul, one of a kind, a diamond.

Tristan was like a son to us; he has been apart of our family since we meet him in 2018. We will miss him and our long talks with him.

Words cannot fully convey the weight in my heart and the void in my family’s heart left by your homecoming. Tristan, from the very first moment, you brought an inner light that always illuminated the room. I vividly recall the first time you visited our home for a haircut by Emma; you radiated confidence, accompanied by a beautiful smile and heartfelt expressions of admiration and love. Almost instantly, you carved a special place in my heart and in the hearts of my family. 
I had the privilege of watching your friendship with Emma blossom from classmates into family. I will miss seeing you in the passenger seat of Emma's car, whether you two were heading to the corner store, going fishing late at night with your rods, or enjoying those deep conversations about life, love, commitment, dreams, and aspirations to become the best versions of yourselves. I'll miss your warm greetings of “Hello Ms. Ava!” followed by a hug and a smile. 
You are more than just a friend; you are family. Miles looked up to you as a big brother, often saying, "he's a boy, and that's what we do!" You provided comfort during both joyous and challenging times, as well as in moments of uncertainty. Your faith in God was unparalleled. While people often believe that it is the elders who impact lives, I am certain that the youth can also provide guidance. Your intelligence was a quality I deeply admired. 
Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and brother to my daughter; she loves you dearly. My family loves you, too. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts, always and forever. You have received your wings, and I know you will continue to soar high above, watching over and guiding the lives of your mother, your superhero, your grandmother, your voice of purpose, and your little brother, sister, and auntie. I told Emma that while you may no longer be here in flesh and blood, you will always be present in her life from above—as her friend, brother, and dragonfly! 🦋
