
Albert Elmer Kinnison, 97, a native of Sikes, LA, and a resident of Mobile, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2015. Albert served as a Master Sergeant in the 101st Infantry Division, US Army, stateside and in Hersbruck, Germany, during World War II and in the Korean Conflict. He worked as an aircraft technician in the USAF Civil Service at Brookley AFB in Mobile and McClellan AFB in Sacramento, CA. Upon retirement, he returned to Mobile. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and a 32nd degree Mason, in Athelston Lodge #369. Albert enjoyed his church, Moffett Road Baptist, reading, gardening and politics. Following the death of his beloved wife Opal, he was married to Arlene Welford Gollotte. Mr. Kinnison is preceded in death by his parents, Winnie Riser Kinnison and Albert M. Kinnison; beloved wife of 56 years, Opal Bass Kinnison; beloved son, Dr. Darryl E. Kinnison; and sister, Myrtice Honeycutt. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Arlene Welford Kinnison; daughter, Charmein Kinnison Moser (Bruce); daughter-in-law, Susan Kinnison Costa (Anthony); brother, Jimmie G. Kinnison (Ruth); grandchildren, Timothy George Copeland, Dr. Ashley Milner (Ben), Andrea Eubanks (Michael), and Ginny Hughes (Billy); and great grandchildren, Cullen Milner, Chason Milner, Zane Eubanks, Connor Eubanks, Lauren Hughes; and nephew Charles R. Reese. The family would like to especially recognize Albert’s devoted caregivers, Lillian Gray, Audrey Snow, Ted Dearman, Jannette Cook and the staff of Baldwin House Assisted Living and W. F. Green Veterans Home. The celebration of Albert’s life will be at 3:30 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Pine Crest Chapel, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm.
