He was born in Shubuta, MS on March 20,1943 to Albert and Allie Larsen. At 13, he got his first glimpse of Joanna Ennis. He told her he wanted to marry her and searched the newspaper for wedding rings. On June 6,1960 Joanna made Albert's dreams come true when she said "I do". Six months later he was enlisted to the United States Air Force. Upon discharge he began his career in Fire Protection, a job that he continued to the end.
Albert was a Devout Christian and Pastor for over 31 years at Mobile Revival Center succeeding his father in-law Rev. M.R. Ennis. Over the years he has led many to Christ through his singing, preaching and prayer. An encounter with him would not be right if he didn't ask you "Are you excited"? Through his excitement he led others in worship.
He was a devoted father to Robin Dixon who precedes him in death, Jennifer Douglas, and Albert (Butch) Larsen II, who miss him dearly and the life lessons he imparted to them. He took great pride in being a parent and the accomplishments of his children.
To them he's known as Daddy, to his friends he's known as Albert, but to his seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren he was known as Gan Gan. It was a name he wore with pride. He loved all deeply, unconditionally, and equally.
