Albert Forrest Pruett

Forrest passed gently into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour early in the morning on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Forrest was a man of great wisdom who loved his Lord and his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane Lois Dyess Pruett, daughters Kelley P Carbo (Paul), Tracey P. Bonner (Rick), Laura P. Howell and Karen P. Johnson (Bob). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brooke, Kyndell and Eric Carbo, Allan (Elissa), Kristen and Traywick (Shelby) Bonner, MariKate H. (Michael) Wilson, Michael and Rachael Howell, Matthew, Sarah and Audrey Johnson and four great-grandchildren. Forrest, age 85 was a long time resident of Mobile. He was preceded in death by his parents Futch and Ester G. Pruett and brother W. Gordon Pruett. Forrest was a graduate of Auburn University and retired as a Civil Engineer with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers after nearly 30 years of service. Forrest served his country honorably in the United States Navy Air Corps for 4 years. He was a committed member of Kingswood United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He loved fishing, camping and his annual family vacation time in the mountains and at the beach. A generous and caring man, Forrest gave of his time and resources to all those he happened upon in need as was exemplified by his continued volunteer service at McKemie Place and his committment to needy children through the Salvation Army “Angel Tree Program”. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Pine Crest West Cemetery, Snow Road, Mobile, AL .In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of A. Forrest Pruett to the Salvation Army Coastal Alabama Angel Tree Program, 1009 Dauphin St., Mobile, Al 36604.
