Allen Wayne Mills

Allen Mills was born on March 5, 1947, in Meridian, MS to his parents, Allen Rollo Mills and Addis Cochran Mills. At the age of 5 in 1952, his family moved to Prichard, Alabama.

Allen had one brother, Tim Mills. Allen attended C. F. Vigor High School where he met the love of his life, Carol Patricia Rush, when they were in 8th grade. They were married in 1968.

For over 38 years, Allen was a dedicated employee of Kimberly Clark Paper Mill from 1968-2006. During his employment there, he was given the nickname “Preacher” by fellow co-workers due to his Christian testimony and faithful love for God. Following his retirement from Kimberly Clark, he started his own successful lawn care business.

Allen was a lover of music and enjoyed playing his trumpet in high school. He received greater joy by using his talents in his local church for the Lord. At the age of 6, Allen gave his life to Jesus Christ and has never looked back. For many years, Allen was a faithful member of Fountain of Life Church of Saraland, Alabama.

Allen is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Rush Mills of Saraland, Alabama; son, Gaston Allen Mills(Allison) of Chunchula, Alabama; Granddaughter, Sydney Kaitlyn Mills of Chunchula, AL; Grandson, Connor Gaston Mills(Victoria) of Mobile, Alabama; Great Granddaughter, Amelia Lynne Mills of Mobile, Alabama; brother, Tim Mills(Donna) of Chunchula, Alabama; Brother in laws, Larry Rush of Millbrook, Alabama and Clarence Turner(Charlotte) of Saraland, Alabama.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents Allen Rollo Mills and Addis Cochran Mills, and his Granddaughter, Emily Lauren Mills.

Viewing and service in honor of Allen Mills will be held on April 25, 2025, at Fountain of Life Church in Saraland, Alabama. Public viewing will be from 10am-11am and the service will be at 11am. Internment will be at Forest Lawn in Saraland, Alabama.
