Anne Sawyer Redd, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Anne leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 48 years, Robert Paul Redd; two sons, Richard Paul Redd (Kristin) of Cape Coral, Florida, and Michael Mulligan (Leslie) of Rainbow City, Alabama; her stepdaughter, Dianna Redd Lundien (Shane) of Crestview, Florida; nine grandchildren: Cole Lambert, Mariah Newby, Aniston Mixson, Paige Mulligan, Easton Lundien, Alisha Mulligan, Kahle Brockman, Sieanna Petro, and Madeline Redd. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas (Tom) Sawyer, Jr. (Jane); two sisters, Caroline Sawyer Tims, and Mary Goff; as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Anne was born to Thomas C. Sawyer and Caroline Stickney Sawyer on August 9,1951. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved stepmother, Calista (Kitty H.) Sawyer; her brother, Robert Stickney Sawyer; her stepbrother, Richard Bodine Roller, III; and her brother-in-law, Ray Tims.
Anne was a wonderful and faithful Christian wife, mother, and Nana. She loved teaching, reading, shopping, and spending time with family and friends – time often spent playing board games. Anne enjoyed decorating, and adored all holidays and cooking for her family. (she made the best fudge!)
Anne was blessed with a special place in her heart for the love of children. Aside from her own, she devoted most of her working years to caring for babies and teaching preschool children at Christ United Methodist Church. Anne always treated everyone with love and kindness and showed Jesus’ light everywhere she went.
The family will receive friends at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
