

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington “Big Daddy” and Mildred Barbara “Big Mama” Stewart; her husband of sixty-four years, John Quincy Amacker, and her first-born son John Q. Amacker, Jr.; her brothers Raymond, Leon, and Benjamin Stewart; and her sisters Ruby Moody, Lelia Bellcase, Emily Saranthus, and Lolete Stewart.
Annette Amacker’s survivors include her sons Kevin Stewart (Charlene) Amacker and John Brent (Alice) Amacker; her daughters Marcia Kay McKenna (Mark), Evelyn Annette (Phil) Ward, and Gwendolyn Rae Pitts. She was blessed with twelve grand-children, ten great-grand children, many nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends
As the youngest child of her family, Annette enjoyed a charmed childhood in the company of her nieces Barbara and June Bellcase, Eileen and Jerry Bythewood, and nephews George and Ronnie Howell, and her beloved pet monkey Pansy. Annette graduated from Semmes High School, where she played basketball and participated in clubs. She began her professional career with GM & O Railroad as a telegrapher. Throughout her life, she was an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress, and an excellent cook. While rearing her children, she eventually returned to work, first for her church, then the University of Mobile, and retired from the SSI offices of the State of Alabama.
As a life-long Christian wife and mother, she supported her husband’s and children’s ministries. She was most recently faithful at the Brookside Chapel and enjoyed the ministry of the Mercy Life Organization.
Her public memorial service will be scheduled after the current health crisis. A graveside service will be conducted in the Indian Springs Cemetery in Eight Mile. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Philip Ward. Pallbearers are Jonah Pitts, Ryan, Joey, and Jarrod Amacker; Mark and Benjamin McKenna; and Richard Gardner.
