He was preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Celia Ruth Nye; sisters, Edith N. Long and Faith N. Ogan; brothers, Lloyd R. Nye and Travers L. Nye; and one daughter, Amy Beth Nye.
“Mr. B” was a machinist by trade – with his last employment being with SOS/AAA Iron Works. At the age of 78, he started singing karaoke at the American Legion Post 88, and other venues.
Beaufort is survived by his daughters, Carol Nye Connelly and Bonnie Nye Miley; son, Gary Scott Nye (Tammy); sister, Janie Nye Carney (Ray); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two very special caregivers and friends, Cindy Donahue and Doris Wike; as well as several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Pine Crest Funeral Home in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment with military honors will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
