He graduated from Murphy High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. Billy served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by and retired from Mobile Gas service Corp.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Yeager Black, one son, Billy Wayne Black II (Denise), two grandchildren, Madison Black Aguillard and Logan Wayne Black, and one step-grandchild Reese Day.
A private graveside service will be held for family members only.
