Bishop Willie (Pete) Washington age 67, died February 23rd after a long battle with cancer. Bishop Washington was born March 27, 1949. A native of Mobile, AL. He was a true man of God and beloved leader of the Big Wall Ministries. He was preceded in death by his mother Mamie Davis, two sister Christinia and Brenda Davis. He leaves to cherish his precious and loving memories, his loving wife Geraldine Washington, four children: Sophia(Rodney)Robinson, Letitia Washington, Loraine Washington, and John Washington. He also leave behind 12 grandchildren, 4 great grand, 4 sisters, 1 brother and a host nieces and nephews. Bishop Washington was a decorated member of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving in the Vietnam War, where he earned the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Campaign medal w/device, Rifle Marksmanship Badge, Vietnam Service Medal w/1*, and Combat Action Ribbon. He also served his community on the board of the Mobile Downtown Redevelopment Authority for 7 years. His bravery, dedication, discipline and patriotism will be remembered for years to come. A small service with family and close friends will be held Friday March 3rd at 1:30 @ Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama.
