

Cal Gunter Hess – an 84 year-old native of Scottsboro, AL and a longtime resident of the Mobile area passed away at his residence in Foley on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. He was retired from the United States Air Force as well as Occidental Chemical where he served as a Safety Specialist. Mr. Hess was also a volunteer with the March of Dimes in Mobile. He loved Alabama football, golfing and taking photographs of his grandchildren’s activities and Gulf Shores High School sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, B.J. Pack Hess; children, Ranna Blakely (Mike), Cindy Reed, and Mark Hess (Becky); brother, Dale Hess (Kay); grandchildren, Shawn Blakely, Autumn Reed, Sara Stroups (Adrian), Elizabeth Brewer (Jordan), William Hess, and C.J. Hess; great-grandson, Conner Stroups; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the service hour.
