Carlton Leslie Sumlin

Mr. Carlton Leslie Sumlin, longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mrs Betty Jo Sumlin. Mr. Sumlin is survived by his daughters; Connie Sumlin Martin (Russell R), Brenda Sumlin McDuffie (Christopher M), and Eva Sumlin Creel (Bruce G). Affectionately called Granddaddy by his grandchildren; Cara Smith Dube (Charles), Leslie McDuffie Johnson (Ashley), Christin McDuffie Skidmore (Samuel), R. Joseph Smith (Anna), G. Tucker Creel (Christina), and Ashton Creel Hennig (Matthew): great-grandchildren; Claire, Reese, Nancy, Mary Carlton, Duffie, Parker, Juliet and Collier. Siblings: Ray Sumlin, Dorothy Sumlin and Carol Sumlin. Mr. Sumlin had a distinguished career in construction, owning C.B.E. General Contractors for over 35 years including being named 1980 Contractor of the Year. Visitation will be held at Forest Hill Church of God with service to follow.

A visitation for Carlton will be held Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Church of God, 5508 Moffett Rd, Mobile, Alabama 36618. A celebration of life will occur Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, Alabama 36605.
