Carolyn Ruth Raines

Carolyn Ruth Raines, age 82, longtime resident of Semmes, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents, C. B. and Ruth Starkey, brother Lamar Starkey and sister Linda S. Manning.

Carolyn was employed as a Registered Nurse with Providence Hospital for over 20 years and Bay Area Nursing for over 10 years. She loved gardening...digging in the dirt and planting flowers.

Surviving her are her lifetime partner of 43 years, Harold E. Gordon and four sons, Phillip (Ginger) Young, Steven C. Young, Mark (Kristi) Young and Russell C. Young. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Sandra S. Starkey, 9 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Graveside services will be held at Pine Crest West Cemetery on Snow Road beginning at 1:00 p.m.
