Cecile Christenberry Sparks

Cecile Christenberry Sparks – loving wife, mother, and grandmother, an 83 year-old native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and a longtime resident of Mobile passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Mrs. Sparks was a 1960 graduate of Vigor High School. She retired from TAG Architects Group in 2015 after more than 30 years of service. A devout Christian, Mrs. Sparks was a longtime faithful member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church where she met her husband, Steve, in the Singles Department in the late 1960’s. She will always be remembered for greeting everyone with a smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Catherine Holloway Christenberry, and her beloved husband of 48 years, William Steve Sparks. Mrs. Sparks is survived by her sons, Robert Steve Sparks and Jason Sparks (Megan); grandchildren, Anna Grace Sparks and Brady Sparks; sister, Elaine Walton (Ferrell); brother, Cecil Christenberry (Linda); brother-in-law, Dwight Sparks (Kathy); sisters-in-law, Mary Sparks and Judy Sparks; special family member, Kathryn Evans; many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Thursday, September, 25, 2025, from 10-11:30 a.m. Graveside services and interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery West on Snow Road at 12:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com.
