
Charles Edwin Chatham, age 86, passed away on March 4, 2015 in Mobile, Alabama. Born May 10, 1928 in Laurel Mississippi, he lived in Mobile for most of his life. Charles served in the US Army Corps of Engineers from 1952-1963. He worked for A.W. Williams and went on to be president of both Chatham Testing and Inspection and Dixie Laboratories. Charles will be remembered as a loving family man and a good friend to many. Survivors include daughter, Shelia Chatham Robinson and her husband, Martin; grandson, Chad Robinson and wife, Jamie and great-grandson, Noah Daniel Robinson- all of Mobile; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nelda Tatum Chatham; father, Aaron Chatham; mother, Ruby Chatham; and brother, Aaron I. Chatham, Jr. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to Dr. Martin Lester and to the special group of 'extended family' that supported Charles through his extended illness. A memorial visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Sunday, March 8, 2015, from 2-3:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow.
