
Charles Duncan McDonald, Sr. – A native of Carbon Hill, Alabama and a resident of Mobile since 1963, died Saturday, May 12, 2012, in a local hospital. Mr. McDonald was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He retired after over 40 years of service from International Paper Company as a Chemical Engineer. He was a member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church and volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program. Mr. McDonald was a former member of the Toastmasters and the Lions Club. Survivors include his best friend and wife of 64 years, Sarah Frances McDonald; son, Charles (Barbara) McDonald, Jr.; daughter, Mary Margaret McDonald; brother, Owen (Angela) McDonald; three grandchildren, Wilson McDonald, Elizabeth McDonald and Nathan McDonald; other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church.
