Charles Horace “Chuck” Moorehead III

Mr. Charles Horace “Chuck” Moorehead, III passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2017 in Mobile, AL at the age of 59. He was a life long resident of Mobile, AL where he attended Davidson High School. Chuck was an entrepreneur from the start. In 1983, he and his cousin Mike Ellis began the adventure of owning their own business, Gulf Coast Air and Hydraulics. In the past 34 years, Chuck has brought much success to the company. Chuck was a devoted father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was known for his giving and loving heart that shed light on everyone he came into contact with. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.

Chuck is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Horace Moorehead, Sr. and Annie Laurie Tarrant Moorehead; father, Charles Horace Moorehead, II; mother, Julia Williamson Moorehead; uncle, John Paul Williamson; aunt, Betty Ann Moorehead Ellis, and long-time friend Danny Stafford.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Ramona Moorehead; daughters, Amanda Jones (Jeremy Jones), Melissa Chambers (Joseph Chambers) and Sarah Grace Ikard (John Michael Ikard); sister, Pam Black (Michael Black); brother, Mark Moorehead (Robert Gifford); grandchildren, Cole Jones, Emma Grace Jones, Addison Jones, Riley Chambers, Anneleigh Grace Chambers, arriving soon Hudson Chambers; uncles, David L. Ellis Sr., Dr. John Robert Moorehead; cousins, Michael Joseph Ellis, David L. Ellis Jr.; mother-in-law, Annette Davis; along with other nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved dearly.The family will receive friends from 10a.m. to 12p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at First Christian Church and will be followed by a church service. Interment will be at Pine Crest Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, Mobile, AL.
