Charles "Dewey" Mosley Sr.

Charles “Dewey” Mosley, passed away the afternoon of April 13, 2022 in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of 90. Dewey was born in Georgiana, Alabama on March 1, 1932, to the late Dewey Wade Mosley and Annie Olive Sellers Mosley. Dewey retired from CSX Railroad after a career spanning 38 years, and enjoyed his time with the railroad. After retirement, he spent most of his free time golfing and hunting. Dewey was a long-time member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by his sister, Olivene “Beamie” Mosley Sims; and brother, Thurston Mosley.

Dewey is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty Murphy Mosley; son, Charles D. Mosley, Jr.; daughter, Lisa (Tim) Stacey; grandchildren, Courtney (Ryan) Wikle, Nicole (Matt) Payment, Ashley Stacey, Beau (Liz) Stacey, Brittney (Matt) Hendrix; and great-grandchildren: Olivia Grace and Jacob Brantley Wikle, Samuel Joseph and Vivian Ann Stacey, Harper Paige and Hannah Cate Hendrix.

Visitation for Dewey will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a Chapel service immediately following. There will be a private, family graveside service in Pine Crest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Charles Dewey Mosley, Sr., may be made to the American Heart Association.
