
She lived in Mobile, AL for 45 years where she was a member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church and a teacher in the Mobile Co. Public Schools. She loved painting, flower gardening and making dolls, but her first love was always her family.
She is survived by her four children; Janice McPherson, Nancy Ricks, Gail Foster and David Philpot, four grandchildren; Kelley Dobbins Dunaway, Shelley Ricks Miller, Adam Ricks and Patrick Foster, four great-grandchildren; Morgan Dunaway, Madeleine Ricks, Jackson Miller and Stanton Miller, and three of her siblings; Rose Elma Clonts, Edith Boswell and Kenneth Beene.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Philpot and her brother William W. Beene. She will be greatly missed, but we know she is in God's embrace.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dauphin Way UMC or her alma mater, Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN. Visitation will be from 12 - 2:00 p.m., Thurs., Dec 2 at Mobile Memorial Gardens followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.
