Mrs. Christina Christiansen Popwell, age 90, longtime resident of Mobile, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband, Julius “Pop” Popwell, parents, and daughter Paula Popwell. She was a faithful longtime member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She was a Christian who loved her church family and family dearly. Mrs. Popwell retired from the Mobile County Public School System as a Science teacher after many years of service. She enjoyed playing board games with family and friends. Mrs. Popwell is survived by her children; Karen Sims (Barry), Joanna Parsons and Rod Popwell. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Sims and grandchildren; Christina Congo (Brent), Morgan Parsons (Eddie), Josh Parsons, Hope Binegar (Mike), Keenan Popwell, Zachary Popwell and Chloe Popwell. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Chapel at Spring Hill Baptist Church on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 12:00 noon.
