
Clara Gladys (Flanagan) Price-Williams of Mobile, AL, age 94, died if heart failure at 8:12 am CDT, Friday, August 27, 2010 at Cogburn Nursing Home, 148 Tuscaloosa Street, Mobile, AL 36607, where she had lived since February 2005. She was born in 1915 at Bogalusa, Louisiana, 6th of 13 of Benjamin Franklin Flanagan (born 1880 Nicholson, Pearl River Co., MS; died Prichard, AL 1960) and Winnie Pearl (Tyron) (born 1886 Oswego, KS; died Satsuma, AL 1971) who married December 12, 1904 in Gurdon, Arkansas. The family moved from Bogalusa, LA to Prichard, AL in 1919. Clara loved to sing Christian songs, going to church, and serving God. She outlived her 12 brothers and sisters. She graduated in 1938 from Murphy High School but had married on January 30, 1932 in Mobile to Warner Price Williams, Sr., born in 1908 at Mobile, 4th of 12 and died 1977 at age 68 in Pensacola, FL, buried in Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile. Warner was the half first cousin of Price Williams III (1880-1935) 4th of 4, who was the Mobile County Probate Judge from 1914-1935. And Warner's father, James "Andrew" Price Williams (1882-1949), was the half brother of Price Williams Jr. (1839-1914), the Mobile County Probate Judge from 1874-1914. Warner's mother was Carobelle (Colsson) (1888-1934), who married Andrew on June 9, 1904 in Mobile. Price, Jr. and Andrew had the same father, Price Williams Sr. (1811VA-1884AL) but different mothers. Price Jr.'s mother was Paulina (Nash) (1814VA-1871AL) who married Price Sr. in 1933 in Virginia; Price Jr. was their 3rd of 9. But Andrew's mother was Emma Catherine (Clark) (1846MS-1939MS) who married Price Sr. in 1873 in Jackson Co. MS. Andrew was their 5th of 6. That is, Price Williams Sr., 7th of 12 and Warner's grandfather, fathered 15 children.Warner and Clara were the parents of nine children, eight of whom have survived: The late Thornton Tyron Price-Williams (1933-2007) of Mobile; Dolon Wayne Williams, 75, of Tucker, Gwinnett County, Georgia; Sylvia Jo (Williams) Zook, 73, of Sublimity, Oregon; Joan Elinor Price-Williams, 72, of Semmes, Alabama; Warner Price-Williams II, 70, called "Tom" of Mobile; Catherine Janice (Price-Williams) Smith, 69, of Mobile; Winnie Spence (Price-Williams) Stearns, 65, of Pearland, Texas; David Benjamin Price-Williams, 61, of Mobile and Jonathan Mark Williams, 55, of Mobile. There were 24 grandchildren of which 22 are still living, more than 21 great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 9:00am - 11:00am on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606. Funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 am on August 31 at Radney Funeral Home, Rev. L.D. Henderson of Parkway Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be at Pine Crest Cemetery.
