

Craig Jerry Hobbs – A native of Black, AL, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, in a local hospital. Craig has been a resident of Grand Bay for the past 15 years. Craig was the owner and operator of Solid Rock Foundation Company. He was a former Police Chief of Hartford, AL. He was an avid hunter and in past years, a professional trapper. Craig was a man who lived for his family and to him, the friends he had were as close as family. He was a loving father, husband, son, and brother. He liked auto racing and motorcycles, but his first love was Jesus Christ. Many people who had the opportunity to meet him called him “best friend.” He was very generous with whatever he had – time, money and anything the Lord blessed him with, he was willing to share. He was an inspiration to many who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Durell Hobbs. Survivors include his wife, Tuwanna Harper Hobbs; two daughters, Katrina (Ron) Hull and Candace (Waylon) Dixon; three sons, Craig Jerry Hobbs, II, Brandon Freer and Blake Freer; his mother, Eunice V. Hobbs; one sister, Shirley (Leon) Hinote; four brothers, Nicky (Gloria) Hobbs, Tim (Kimberly) Hobbs, Tony (Becky) Hobbs, and Tracy (Barbara) Hobbs; six grandchildren, Bailey Dixon, Kaytlin Hull, Kiersten Hull, Emily Dixon, Brady Dixon, and Charleigh Freer; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services will be held from First Assembly of God, Grand Bay on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
