I remember your mom from when you were at Faith Academy and you and Michelle were in school together. She was the sweetest person and I enjoyed her when we had birthday parties, field trips etc. She was very proud of you always. 

Danya and I went to elementary school together and remained friends over the years. She was always so sweet and just a precious soul. I pulled out the old year book from Bethany and Danya had signed the page with a little poem about friendship. I am so glad I knew her and could call her my friend even after many years.  She will be missed by so many. God bless and keep you during this difficult time. Thank God for all those precious memories you have of Danya.

Danya was a wonderful girl. She was never looking to fit in but she always did. She had a quiet strength about her and a ferocious competitive drive. You never realized it was there until you were in a challenge against her. 
Danya’s passing brought a flood of sweet memories of times with our group of friends, Jimmy Starnes, Angela Sterling, Lynn Dykes and the list goes on. 
I pray for comfort for your family in these days ahead. 

Hannah, I am so sorry for your loss. I loved your Mom, she was so sweet. If boys bothered me at school she would make them leave me alone....I was so happy when we ran into each other at the ballpark and that Gary was able to put you on his team, he is probably showing her the softball fields up there and where he will Coach you again...you will always have special place in my heart sweetie, Danya was a very special lady, she LOVED you with her whole HEART, you were her WHOLE WORLD....I will always cherish our times together, even though they were few, she meant a lot to me....if you need me sweetie, contact me anytime.....God Bless! I remember the first time I met Mrs. Thomas. Me and her daughter Hannah are good friends. We also worked together and thats where I met her mom. She was sooooo sweet to me. It was like I known her for years. Every time she saw me it was the same way. Hannah would always tell me that she would ask about me and that always made me feel special. She actually cared about Hannah's friends. She was a big Alabama fan so of course that made me love her even more. Roll Tide, beautiful!!! Im blessed to have known you and I promise I will always be in your daughter's corner. 

I will always remember the wonderful cousin times we had.  Just a few of those memories include:

* Tent forts at Gome's house
* The Easter bean bags we all got
* Wonderful times at Gulf Shores exploring sand dunes 
* Sunburns and white ointment afterwards
* Her kindness to me

Growing up with Danya as my cousin was endless fun .  So much time spent together , so many hilarious memories .  I spent more nights at her house than I could count . She made everything fun ! The treehouse in her backyard ,  red dirt clog fights where the boys were actually scared of her , riding on the handlebars on her bike going down the big hill , then HER pushing the bike back up the hill with a broken collarbone!  Ruining the tomato plants and then climbing the tree to the top and then refusing to come down !  Playing jump rope for hours with that huge rope tied to the tree with her and Miranda . Somehow we mainly went to the same schools also until high school .  I still have the little Alabama outfit that she bought when my first baby was born .  So much of my childhood included her ,  and I’m so glad . She was fearless .  I will always regret not being closer to her as we both got busy raising our families .  But I’m so glad that I did get to see her last Fall . I will never forget her .  She was a sweet, gentle soul . Cousins forever ! I love you Danya 

For many summers daddy loaded up the station wagon and showed us the world. Smoky mts, New York, Arizona, Utah, Nevada dam, and the Grand Canyon. Mama reminded me, Danya cried leaving the Grand Canyon because she knew she would never come back.
She had such a gentle loving heart.

Danya was a precious soul.  She loved unconditionally. She was always in the underdog's corner.  She and I had some wonderful memories riding in that old white car of hers.  Her laugh and smile could fix anything!   I was truly blessed to have her as my friend.   I will miss her dearly.  Thank you  Danya for being good to me!  

I remember Danya always giving her undivided attention and Love to Hannah. She always worried more about her family than for herself. 

Danya has been a part of my life since the day I was born  & came home from the hospital.  Before I came home Danya asked our Mama “what kind of baby I was”. 
We shared so much of our life. We shared a bedroom, our bed, toys and dolls. We rode to school together every single day of our life till she graduated. I got her hand-me-down clothes as she grew. When I grew up we shared our clothes. Later, I shared Arianna’s baby clothes when she had Hannah. We shared countless memories. The good, bad & funny. Danya even shared her friends when I was lonely in middle school. With so much of our life spent together we shared many inside jokes & secrets. No one else will ever get or understand those jokes anymore.
Danya understood me. Sometimes before I even finished my thought. She & I might have moved under different roofs or states but our sister bond has always been there. Danya was always only a phone call away.  I was not prepared to loose Danya. We take for granted the constants in our life. I’m so grateful I got to speak to Danya during her final days to let her know I loved her.  She may be gone but I think of her every single day. Thank you God for allowing me to have spent so much of my life with her. Wrap her in your loving arms till we’re reunited. 

In the 1990's we met at work.  Danya was such a private person, but, as fate would have it we were pushed together one day at work after I had an episode  and because we lived so close to each other my coworkers threw me , literally,  in her passeners seat and she took me home.   She said she thought I was CRAZY yrs later.   She said I was hard to figure me out on any normal day,  Ha, but we became good friends as long ago as Hannah wore her big bows and I guess that was around  5 ish. Hannah held the LIghts in her eyes.  Danya never missed any of my children's events as they grew up. I regret missing Hannah's shower cause of Covin-19  quarenteen  that week of her shower more than I can say.  Jessie and Danya helped me with my first prepared turkey ever  at their house then I went to bake it at home.  She fell asleep and missed my call and I dried my turkey up!  It will pro be my first and last turkey.  They both welcomed me in their home several times and she showed me how to make gravy from corn starch.  She made good hot chilly too.  Danya was spicy sometimes and  gave me her oppions as they came out and I know she didnt listen to my excuses.   It didnt matter, I loved Danya and that was fine! Never got mad at her.  She did let me know about the shower though. I told her I was trying to protect her.   She would bring me little gifts to wk sometimes and on my birthday too. She loved my mama and told me to stay away from her during this Covin-19.    I hate it so much I couldn't see her in the hospital.  I Love you" MyDanya" and I wont be petting no snakes at the Beaver Pond cause you said so! Thanks for always making me  better than I am.  You would of done anything to be here for Hannah's  wedding and I wouldnt have missed  it for your or your Hannah's sake.  I went and she was a beautiful  Brown Eyed  Girl that held up remarkably.  You would be proud.  You already were.  I miss u.  One day God  will wipe all our tears away, He promisses.  Love you..Beaner

Danya was a coworker of mine 12 years ago, I moved away and never got the chance to see her after that, However we remained friends through Facebook.   At our job, Our boss was a little intimidating to me and I remember Danya would sit me down and give me a little pep talk before I had to face the boss with whatever the issue was.  She helped me through so many tough situations  with her pep talks and motherly advice.  She seemed to have all the best answers  when I just needed some guidance.  
I always knew Danya was one of my biggest supporters. She truly loved me as a friend and she wanted the best for me.  I will miss Danya! 

She was loving, kind, sentimental . If you gave her anything at all, no matter if it was trash, she treasured it. She was so easy to buy for because she appreciated everything. Lets not leave stubborn out. HA She was as stubborn as they come.She loved me and her daddy and there was no doubt about it. I miss her 20 phone calls a day. I miss her so much that words cannot express. Wonder if I'll ever stop crying.

There’s so much I could say about my mother. She was the most beautiful human being that I could have ever been lucky enough to be raised by. The one thing that I want to leave here is that my mother was all about the little things. 

If she saw something that reminded her of you at a yard sale, she would buy it and surprise you with it. It didn’t matter if it only costs 25 cents. It was the best thing in the world to her. 

The little things that we take for granted were everything to her. 

She was the biggest Roll Tide fan you could ever imagine. My favorite memory of her is surprising her with an Alabama home game ticket. She had watched the games on television since she was a little girl but had never been to a game. Most of us have been to several. I’ll never forget her tears as we walked into the stadium. “It’s just so big and pretty” she said. We stood in the entry tunnel for 5 minutes while she soaked it all in. I have never seen someone scream and shout and shake their shaker so much. We stayed until the very last play. 

I lost the best piece of me when she passed. She was my everything and I never knew it. She was stubborn; she was strong; she 

I miss you mama. 

Danya was a kind and beautiful soul. She will be missed, and will always be remembered with love.

Danya was my sister and best friend. We talked on the phone everyday. She was in a lot of pain and very weak, but she always made time for me. I was lucky in the last 6 months to see her 1-2 times a week. Sometimes I took care of her, sometimes she took care of me. She loved her family and would do anything for them.
There are 4 things I know about Danya:
She was the stubbornness person you would ever meet. 
She loved Christmas and anything related to Christmas. The last gift I gave her was a Santa Claus. 
She adorned her daughter Hannah, and her precious chihuahua Jax.
She was a die hard Roll Tide fan. Hannah and her husband took her to see Alabama play in Tuscaloosa. She had the best time of her life.
There are no words to express the loss her family will feel for years to come. Rest In Peace Danya. Enjoy no more pain, and tell Gome I still miss her.
