He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty Divin Steber, two sons, Mark Anthony Steber(Laura) of Sarasota, Florida and Michael Lee Steber(Millie) of Huntsville, Alabama, and five grandchildren: John Divin Steber, David Joseph Steber, Mary Margaret Steber, Benjamin Hanks Steber, and Joseph Michael Steber.
Tony was a life long resident of Mobile, Alabama, a devout Catholic and a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing golf, cooking, and spending time with family. He was known for his friendly outgoing nature and his love of barbecuing.
Prior to retiring Tony worked for Courtauld’s Textiles North America for 41 years. He joined Courtauld’s shortly after leaving military service where he was a paratrooper in the Army as part of the 82nd Airborne Division.
The family plans a private mass due to the current COVID pandemic but looks forward to a celebration of life gathering later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tony’s name to Corpus Christi Catholic Church of Mobile, Alabama.
