David Lamar Boyd Sr.

David Lamar Boyd, Sr. passed away on Wednesday. He was born in Louin, Mississippi and had lived most of his life in Mobile, Alabama. Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Ruby Boyd; sister, Elizabeth Brettel and brother, Daniel J. Boyd. He is survived by his wife, Alice, his children, Michelle (Victor) Lind, Angela Boyd, and David Boyd, Jr.; grandchildren, Victor Lind, Lauren Boyd, Kelsey Boyd, Brandon Dawson and his brother, W. Tom (Melba) Boyd, all of Mobile. David retired from the Ironworkers’ Local #798. He was an active member of Masonic Lodges, Guy T. Smith #883, George U. Potter #912 and a Honorary Member of Grand Bay Lodge #767 F&AM. He was a member of the Abba Shrine Temple where he volunteered his services for many years. Masonic Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10 AM in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Abba Shriners’ Transportation Fund, 7701 Hitt Rd., Mobile, AL 36695.
