

David Thomas Jacobs, an 85 year old lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama died at home surrounded by family on September 20, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Eula Mae (Antoine) Jacobs, parents; Enoch and Vera Jacobs, son, Shawn Jacobs, daughter, Stacey Jacobs, grandson, Jason Conklan, brother, Donald Jacobs and sister-in-law, Thelma Jacobs. He is survived by his children; Sheryl (Bill) Everett, Saundra (Mark) Conklan, Scott (Carrie Ann) Jacobs, Steven (Christine) Jacobs, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, his sister, Pat (W.H.) Robinson and brother, Douglas (Nell) Jacobs. David (Jolly Jake/Shaky Jake) was born September 11, 1932 in Shelby County. He is a graduate of Murphy High School’s Class of 1950. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War. David worked for Gulf Electric Company for 30 years and is a member of IBEW Local 505. Visitation will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Savior Catholic Church on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
