
Mr. Holt, a retired U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant, and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, was discharged effective March 17, 1976, from the military with thirty years total service, more than twenty-one of which was active duty. His service awards include the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Citation, and World War II Occupation Medals for both Germany and Japan. Mr. Holt retired from the Office of Examiner of Public Accounts and was a member of First Baptist Tillman's Corner. The second of three sons of J.N. and Vera Francis Holt, Mr. Holt was born in Baxter Springs, Cherokee County, KS, on October 1, 1928.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Farnell Holt, one brother, Jay Francis Holt of Wichita, KS; three sons, Robert Pierre Holt of Mobile, Phillip Alexandre Michael Holt of Aurora, CO and James Marc Holt of Arvada, CO; three daughters, Veronique Isabele Holt of Mobile, Constance Gwendolynn Holt Heuring of Denver, CO and Isabelle Marie Helen Holt Lombard of Chicago, IL; three grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter; a step-son, Clayton Barkley Gabel of Orlando, FL; one nephew, four nieces and other relatives.
He will be missed by Pepe and Sugar Baby, doggies for eight years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.mmgfuneral home.com.
