Donald (Don) W. Merritt, died May 13, 2015, with his family by his side in Mobile, AL. Visitation will be Friday, May 15, 2015 from 5pm until 7pm at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama. The funeral will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11am with visitation being from 10am to 11am. Don was a long time resident of Mobile and a cherished employee of Palmer Toyota for the past 22 years. He enjoyed cooking, watching Alabama football as well as fishing and playing golf. He is survived by his wife Gwen Owen Merritt, sister Gayle Merritt, Houston TX, nephew Thad Merritt, Jackson MS and other survivors which include: Helen Owen Blake, Suzanne Owen (Jerry) Barnett and Buzzy (Chrissie) Owen as well as other relatives and many friends. The family requests in lieu of flowers to please make donations to St. Mark United Methodist Church, Mobile, AL.
