

Doris was a member of Joseph Kohn High School Alumnae (Class of 1940) the Eight O'Clock Choir of the Defunct Simon/Peter Church in New Orleans East the Resurrection of our Lord Parish in N.O. East and the Wednesday Night Card Players. She loved playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, singing, dancing and was addicted to reading romance novels.
She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and was respected and loved by her family and friends. She was a very loving and generous person that was always ready to deny herself in order to give pleasure to others. Whether it be driving her friends to the doctor, beauty parlor, other outings or being available to her children, granddaughter and great grandson Liam, giving them the care and love that poured forth from her generous heart. She will always be remembered as the best Mother and Nana ever. Doris will always be a part of our lives, in our thoughts and prayers until we meet again where we can all join together and sing...when the saints go marchin' in...Heaven will be a better place when she arrives.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Gerard T. Brotmeyer, her parents, Joseph Mack Woods and Louise Mullen Woods. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara(Sr.Cecilia, LSP)Brotmeyer, her son, Gerard T. Brotmeyer, Jr., granddaughter Crystal E. Brotmeyer and great grandson Liam.
A visitation will be held at Little Sisters of the Poor, located at 1655 McGill Ave, Mobile, AL 36604, on February 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 am.
We will miss you but until the day of your departure, let's continue to enjoy each other, enjoy life and Thank God for his many blessings.
