Doris was born on May 22, 1944 in Bay Minette, AL to the late Willie Lee and Willie Pearl (Little) Hodges. Doris married the love of her life, Charles “Woody” Morrison in October of 1962. Together they raised two sons and traveled the world; first with the United States Air Force then later with Woody’s civilian job. Doris was a phenomenal teacher who poured her heart and soul into countless students. After retirement from Mobile County Public School System, she later became an interior designer who worked in residential and commercial design in Alabama and Florida.
Doris was predeceased by three brothers; Tommy Hodges, J. T. Hodges and Glenn Hodges and two sisters; Carolyn Hodges Pugh and Anne Hodges Brantley.
Those left to cherish her memory are Charles “Woody” Morrison of Mobile, AL. Son, Tony Morrison (Billie Jo) of Lakeland, FL. Grandson, David Morrison (Colleen) of Lakeland, FL. Two great grandsons, Silas and Jameson Morrison, both of Lakeland, FL. Son, Steve Morrison (Christa) of Mobile, AL. Three granddaughters, Mary Grace, Madelyn and Mallory Morrison all of Mobile, AL. brother, Neal Hodges (Barbara) of Bay Minette, AL. Many brothers in law, sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
Services will be held at Forest Hill Church of God on Thursday, June 27, 2024; visitation for friends at 10:00 A.M. and funeral at 11:30 A.M. with interment set for a later date at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
