For 44 years, Dorothy dedicated her life to nursing, serving others with unwavering compassion, skill, and kindness. Her patients were more than just those in her care, they were people she nurtured, comforted, and uplifted during their most vulnerable moments. Nursing was not just her profession; it was her calling.
Beyond her career, Dorothy was a true giver and nurturer. She selflessly cared for loved ones, always placing others before herself, offering strength, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and healing. She loved to cook big meals and have family gatherings especially around the holidays.
From an early age, she was known to be strong-willed and independent, traits that carried her through life with determination and grace. She faced challenges head-on, never backing down, and remained full of energy, resilience, and spirit even in the face of adversity.
Her battle with cancer was fought with incredible courage and faith. Though the journey was extremely difficult and painful, she never lost her strength or her trust in God. Now, we find peace in knowing she is rejoicing in heaven, reunited with her beloved mother, Lorine; father, Herman; sister, Bonnie; brother, Michael; and other cherished family members, embraced in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Stephanie; her two cherished grandchildren, Parker Elizabeth and Cooper; her sister, Charlotte (James); and her brothers, Ronald (Karen), Herman (Mary), and Gary.
Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
