

Celebration of Life services for Douglas Alexander Malone, 46, will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 7, 2018, in the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Mobile, AL, 36605. Officiating will be Deacon Edward G. Connick of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1621 Boykin Blvd, Mobile, Alabama, 36605, under the direction of Pine Crest Funeral Home.
Douglas Alexander Malone was born April 7, 1972, on Richards-Gebaur AFB, Missouri, to Marcia Carol Peto Malone and the late George Patrick Malone Sr., Lt. Col., USAF. He left this earthly home September 2, 2018, surrounded by the comfort of his home in Clinton, Maryland.
Douglas made a career in Computer Networking and dedicated his employment to International Telecommunications as a technician. He played team soccer from the age of five through high school. Douglas graduated from Surrattsville High School in Clinton, Maryland and attended Prince Georges’ Community College in Maryland and Strayer Universities. He was an avid MLS D.C. United soccer fan and was a member of the Barra Brava Soccer Fan Club. Douglas enjoyed charter fishing in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland and inshore fishing in Mobile Bay. He always loved tinkering around on his computers. In his spare time he liked drawing, photography and cooking especially at tailgates.
Douglas will always be remembered for his free spirit, friendly smile, infectious laughter and kind heart. He never met a stranger and was always there for anyone when they were in need. Douglas cared lovingly for all animals large and small. He was a loving uncle to his niece and nephew and supported them in many of their art, drama and sporting events. Douglas truly will be missed by those who loved him.
Douglas was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents: Alexander J. and Violet A. Peto, John D. Sr. and Jane L. Tree and George Malone.
Left to cherish the warm memories Douglas leaves behind are his beloved mother; Marcia Carol Peto Malone of Clinton, Maryland, one brother; George Patrick Malone, Jr. of Clinton, Maryland, one sister; Mollie Malone Smitherman and husband Michael of Nashville, Tennessee, one niece; Mia Smitherman of Nashville, Tennessee, one nephew; Mason Smitherman of Nashville, Tennessee, along with many extended family member and a host of wonderful friends.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made in honor of Douglas Alexander Malone to the charity of donor’s choice.
